This website is about popular culture, as experienced by one person. Me. It's me, that I'm talking about here. It's a personal blog, and I write for fun, and I like hanging out on the Internet. You are welcome to also hang out. So please do.
The Cultural Apocalypse struck me as a decent name for a blog because it wasn't terribly original but still sounded like a reasonable example of a blog title, and because I intend to write about what I like, and what I like is not often... high brow, I suppose you could say.
There is no mission statement here, but there are some general points that are probably important to understand:
- I really like the Star Trek movies with the original cast (including the odd numbered ones) but I don't like the original series very much.
- I may frequently point out that [actor/musician/writer/comedian/ice cream that you like] is absolutely useless. That's the way it is. I don't care if you think Leonardo Dicaprio is a good actor. The fact is, you are wrong about this. Also, it's my blog.
- I don't do politics. Not in this space at least. Life is too short and there are better places for those discussions than a blog that that came into being mostly through the inspiration of repeated viewings of the first two Rocky movies and Die Hard 2: Die Harder.
The Cultural Apocalypse is currently being surveyed from Texas, Chicago and Cork, Ireland. Not necessarily in that order.
