The first rule of keeping a blog is not to talk about personal stuff, and that should probably include excuses about not writing enough.
There.
Also, easing myself back in, today is a short post about making something dull and innocuous completely and utterly awesome: USB keys that don’t look terrible.
It’s funny the things you suddenly become very interested in when you should be working, and to be honest, the last thing I expected to nerd out over was some memory sticks. Ok, you can argue going for the whole lego thing is a bit obvious, but what can I say? I like lego.
The more literal-minded of you can hang out with the cool Dutch people at Oooms, who have made a USB key I would never, ever use, but will one day buy to remind myself I’m rich enough to buy things that look more awesome than cheaper stuff that does the same job.
And finally, the coup de grace: a USB key so ridiculously cool you have to get on a plane to Amsterdam to walk in a shop (yes, a real shop, with walls and everything) and hand over many Euro to a human being. It’s entirely possible you could e-mail these people and ask them to send one on, but I like the idea of having to go to Europe to get one more appealing.
It is made of PORCELAIN. Porcelain. My mind is blown.
